Event Details
August marks the onset of the beekeeping season coming to a close. During the preceding months, brood rearing has slowly waned and your colony is losing noticeable population. At this time, decisions about re-queening can be tricky but are important to a colony’s health and survival. We’ll discuss how you can decide about the health of your queen and the actions you can take to help your colony survive. Bring your questions.
Note: Due to Covid19 restrictions Bee Talks is temporarily being held virtually using Zoom.
Bee Talks are held on the second Thursday of each month* at the Rockfall Foundation (27 Washington Street in Middletown) or via Zoom. The foundation operates in the historic deKoven House where there is ample parking and convenient public lots for additional paid parking.
Bee Talks are led by Bill Hesbach, owner of Wing Dance Apiary in Cheshire, EAS-Certified Master Beekeeper and graduate of the University of Montana’s Master Beekeeping Program. Bill is an author and his writings on beekeeping can be found in Bee Culture magazine and more. For additional information, contact Bill via his website www.WingDanceHoney.com
So bring your questions, and we hope to see you there!
